Mary H. Wright
Author

Mary Wright is a 5th generation Texan, has two children, and five grandchildren. After joining the Texas Marine Mammal Stranding Network and going on a trip to see and touch the gray whales in Mexico, Mary was asked to write a book about a stranded dolphin who was rescued and rehabilitated by the TMMSN. Thus she wrote her first children's book, Stranded, Stormy's Adventure. It was a great success and made money for the Network. Grandma Spoils Me came from her own experience with her precious grandchildren. Mary loves to travel and has visited over 80 countries. She also volunteers with children’s charities.

It's a new take on the coming-of-age story. It's a telling narrative of self-discovery, with intense action sequences, and the main charater is a dolphin. In fact, give or take a few token sharks and humans, all the characters are dolphins . . . —Ricardo Baca, Staff Writer of Corpus Christi Caller-Times

Stranded, Stormy's Adventure is the . . . extraordinarily moving true story of a young dolphin's odyssey after a tropical storm in the Gulf of Mexico separates him from his family . . . The end of the story is a good one for Stormy, thanks to the efforts of the Texas Marine Mammal Stranding Network. This book pulls no punches, but delivers a powerful message: dedicated people can make a difference.—Ellen Weiss, Author of over 100 books for children, including Odd Jobs: The Wackiest Jobs You've Never Heard Of (Simon & Schuster, 2000)
